At Welkin Health, we believe a company is only as amazing as its people. We’ve dedicated ourselves to improving the lives of care teams and want to show off the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make that happen. We’ll be doing a Q&A with one of our extraordinary team members to show off the people behind the product.
Our very own Dmitri (Dima) Limonov joined us last year as VP of Engineering. His expertise and relentless customer focus has allowed for some incredible product updates and an even more impressive product roadmap in 2021. So, let’s get to know Dima a little bit more, shall we?
Where are you from?
I was born in Odessa, Ukraine, but lived in Israel since 1991 and relocated to California in 2012.
What is your favorite Welkin value and why?
Accountability is hands down my favorite. I believe that in software engineering and in all other aspects of life, it’s important to be accountable for everything you do. It also allows teams to quickly identify gaps in knowledge and increase shared knowledge across the board.
What do you love about working for Welkin and why?
I’ve loved working at Welkin Health and bringing my knowledge and customer focus into the company. I’ve also loved partnering with all our customers and solving for real problems that they face while delivering care. I believe that the best jobs are the ones that combine technology and real life problems and help solve them at scale. And that’s what we’re doing.
Who is your favorite Welkin pet and why?
I have two cats, Kesha and Puma. Both of them relocated with us from Israel and provide a unique experience for our family, especially during COVID. They accompany me during the day and jump up on my desk at least twice a day while I’m on conference calls. They very much entertain all participants by walking around the desk and hiding me from the camera.
What is your favorite snack while working from home?
I don’t snack a lot, but when I do, I prefer nuts and seeds with honey on top. It compliments the seven cups of coffee a day that I have during my work day nicely.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
A variety of things, but recently my activities are mostly based around my kids, keeping them occupied and entertained.
If you weren’t in your current role, what would you be doing?
If I wasn’t in technology, I would probably do some craftsman work. I like to fix things around the house and I believe I’m decent enough to make a living from it.
What’s your daily routine during quarantine?
Wake up, read Slack, exercise, prepare breakfast for the kids, go to my office and work until about 5:30PM. I then play with kids for few hours, put them to bed and pick up a bit more work. Rinse and repeat 5-6 days a week 🙂
Since we’re working from home, where in your house do you like to work?
I have an amazing room on the last floor, with my desk, few armchairs, a bed and a favorite painting.
