Team Member Spotlight: Mallory Martin

At Welkin Health, we believe a company is only as amazing as its people. We’ve dedicated ourselves to improving the lives of care teams and want to show off the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make that happen. We’ll be doing a Q&A with one of our extraordinary team members to show off the people behind the product.

Our very own Mallory Martin joined us in 2019 as both a Customer Success Manager and also helps with digital marketing. She is a true customer advocate and is dedicated to our customers’ happiness. And since she wears dual hats, there’s never a dull moment! So, let’s get to know Mallory a little bit more, shall we?

Where are you from?

I was born in Newport Beach, California but currently my home is Denver.

What is your favorite Welkin value and why?

Accountability! It’s so refreshing to work with an entire team of hard-working individuals who are so diverse, yet share similar values. Our entire team is so incredible at holding themselves (and others) accountable to produce their very best work, meet deadlines and deliver on goals. Communication is key for accountability to work, and our team is so fantastic at being open and honest about what is needed for us to shine as a company!

What do you love about working for Welkin and why?

Where to begin!? My FAVORITE thing about Welkin Health is the people that I get to work with every day. We have hired such an amazing group of humans who all excel at what they do, and are so inclusive and warm to one another. I also am very proud to work for a company that has built such an incredible product that truly strives to meet the needs of many different types of care teams.

Who is your favorite Welkin pet and why?

This is way too hard to choose! Since we’ve all working from home, I’d definitely have to choose my cat, Queso. His favorite activities include belly rubs, chasing squirrels (unsuccessfully) and snuggling. While we were in-office, my favorite Welkin dogs were definitely Avi and Ike 🙂

What is your favorite Welkin snack?

Matcha! I have always worked remotely from Denver, so unfortunately I haven’t spent a lot of time around the snacks, but I always start my morning off with an iced matcha green tea.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

Hiking, camping, traveling, watching bad comedies, quoting bad comedies, snorkeling, beaching, trying new foods, cooking poorly, and live music of almost any kind! During COVID-19 that list has changed a bit and my time is spent mostly road biking, playing disc golf, baking sourdough and camping.

If you weren’t in your current role, what would you be doing?

Alternative career paths would be quite different than what I’m doing now. Jobs that come to mind are being a park ranger (or something that would put me in close proximity to nature) or managing a divey comedy club.

If you had a prop in your photo, please tell us a bit more about it and why it’s meaningful for you.

Halloween is hands down my favorite holiday, hence the random pumpkin in these pictures. I love going all-out on my costumes, which are typically references to funny pop-culture moments or movies/shows that I love.
